Hand-torn, Hand-stitched, Hand-crafted
Each journal is proudly crafted by a team of Kenyan youths, who pour their heart and soul in tearing every single paper by hand, stitching them on to the leather, and refining the end product, giving the journal their signature manuscript look. Its an intimate process by the makers.
Our silk smooth, durable leather and great quality paper for different creatives, are locally sourced from Kenya. By supporting the Kenyan industry, we believe that these is our way of giving back to the community we are from.

Our Story
June, 2017, we had a bulb idea moment; to provide the best locally, durable, hand-crafted leather journals to our fellow classmates at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, who at the time didn’t have quality sketchbooks to draw on and express their ideas. We realized that not only architecture students at our university had this predicament but creatives such as fashion designers, illustrators, graphic designers, industrial designers in Nairobi as well. First forward, one of our directors came to Australia to pursue his dreams and carried Erregatti’s philosophy with him. To share the bulb idea for creatives and thinkers to express themselves, and take pride while at it.

![It all started with a dream!
It’s always a humbling and sometimes emotional moment looking back to where it all began. We had a dream!
A dream to craft the perfect journal that would inspire artists and journalist to put down their freshly baked or long marinated ideas on paper. To look back and be proud of the journey it took to honing their skills.
We had a dream to craft a journal that would be a “no brainer “gift for your loved ones. To be an extension of the love.
We had a dream, that one day, our love wouldn’t be confined to our geographical location [Kenya], but to sail far and wide and inspire different races.
We had a dream of making one finished, well crafted journal. We are constantly moved by how much the journals means to you as it does to us. We have witnessed growth and potential, in you, and interestingly, we have seen your dark, unresolved side. The pain, the hurt, the tears. Above all we have seen you overcome. And YES! We have been silently cheering you on.
We had a dream, maybe, just maybe, our journals would replace #moleskin. Still a dream!
We have a dream! Through our God-gifted hands, we are sharing our unconditional love. #handmadewithlove
Thank you @mgkarugu @anne_mwariri @brian_nyabuti for sharing the dream.
